BPE Bush Balm contains the following active ingredients;

Macadamia Oil -  The first super power of Macadamia is Squalene which is naturally produced by skin cells. Squalene maintains the fluidity of cell membranes which is crucial to the outer layer of the skin.  Skin high in squalene is hydrated and healthy.

As well as containing Squalene, Macadamia Oil is rich in Palmitoleic acid and Oleic acid. Both help the skin cells to produce keratin in the outer most layer of our skin which is necessary for healthy skin. Keratin protects your skin barrier and works hard to keep your skin firm.  This protective skin barrier keeps out skin damaging pathogens and potentially dangerous environmental factors

Beeswax - The anti-inflammatory properties of beeswax encourage the healing of wounds. It is also protective, helping form a barrier between the skin and the environment without clogging pores. It is high in vitamin A, which has been found to support cell reconstruction and health.  Beeswax has been found to help soothe and facilitate the healing of abrasions. It prevents harmful bacteria from entering the body through chapped and broken skin and it provides the skin with a layer of protection against external irritants.  It's great for treating scrapes, minor cuts, minor wounds, and burns, among other abrasions.

Manuka Oil -  Produced in New Zealand, Manuka oil helps to balance and protect skin from bacteria and promote overall skin health.   Manuka oil is an ultra-concentrated plant essential oil that delivers the same Manuka benefits you know from Manuka Honey, but even more potent! Manuka Oil is known to Reduce scaring, and promote skin health, Soothes hair and skin, be used as a natural pesticide, and acts as a disinfectant.

Kunzea Oil - Native to Tasmania, Kunzea oil is distilled from the leaves, twigs and green branchlets of the Kunzea plant.  Similar to Tea Tree, Kunzea has many benefits for use in horses, and is generally considered to be safer to use topically. It has been shown to be provide mild pain relief, repel both ticks and insects, be a natural anti-inflammatory, sooth insect bites and assist in the management of dry skin. One of the biggest advantages for horse owners however is the nautral anti-fungal, and anti bacterial properties of Kunzea. Perfect for the treatment of rainscald and greasy heal.

Lavender - Really needs no introduction as a well known super oil. Used topically,  Lavender Essential Oil has been shown to reduce pain and enhance blood circulation, which in turn promotes healing. It boasts naturally cleansing and detoxifying properties which also make it incredibly beneficial for dry, sensitive and irritated skin, and promotes scar reduction.

Cocobutter - Cocoa butter contains a high amount of fatty acids which help to hydrate the skin. The fat in cocoa butter creates a protective barrier that holds in moisture and prevents the skin from drying.  Cocoa butter is high in antioxidants, which help fight off free-radical damage, Protecting the skin from free-radical damage is crucial to keep it healthy. Cocoa butter is also an anti-inflammatory—just another way it helps skin health.

Raw Honey - Locally sourced, raw unheated honey is used in Bush Balm to ensure that all the healing properties are not lost through pasteurisation (as in store bought honey).  Honey has anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and research has shown that raw honey can kill unwanted bacteria and fungus both because of its sugar content and as it naturally contains hydrogen peroxide, an antiseptic.

Honey also aids in tissue regeneration, reduces inflammation and promotes rapid and improved healing. It can assist in reducing excess granulation (proud flesh) during the healing process.

BPE Bush Balm contains approximately 15% honey.
