BPE Protection Plus is an all round preventative to bacterial and fungal infections in horses. Perfect for rain scald, greasy heal and even thrush. Simply spray a light coating over your horses coat or hooves and leave it to dry.
Protection Plus comes in both 250ml and 500ml spray bottles.
DO NOT USE ON BROKEN SKIN
For Rain Scald and Greasy Heal, apply to the affected areas for 1-3 days to kill the bugs causing the infection. Follow up by applying Nourishing Skin Ointment or Herbal Healer to help soften and remove the scabs, heal the skin and regrow the hair.
Use as a daily thrush protection in wet, muddy weather or for horses prone to thrush.

Apple Cider Vinegar - is great for minor ailments such as skin infections, fungus, rain scald etc can reduce healing time by helping to keep bacteria and insects away. It will also help condition your horse’s coat naturally, helping the hair to regrow. ACV is also very effective at treating minor ailments in horse’s hooves such as seedy toe, abscesses and thrush.
Iodine The very first step of healing Rain scald, Mud Fever, Greasy Heal, Thrush, or even abscess's is killing the nasty bugs that cause it. And that's the job of iodine. Iodine is an effective antiseptic that does not impede wound healing It has no acquired bacterial resistance or cross-resistance, making it a safe and effective antiseptic for a broad range of aliments. Iodine aids healing in a range of acute and chronic wounds and has been used for over 170 years.
Witch Hazel Witch hazel is a topical astringent derived from the bark and leaves of Hamamelis virginiana, the common or North American witch-hazel shrub. Native Americans have long recognized the medicinal properties of witch hazel and used a decoction of the boiled plant parts to treat skin irritations because of its antiseptic qualities. The popular herbal remedy is recognized world-wide as a natural cleanser and toner. In horses, Witch Hazel naturally soothes the skin and does not strip away the natural oils. It can safely be used daily when serious skin conditions are being managed.
Tea tea - comes from the melaleuca alternifolia plant, found in Australia. It is commonly used to help clear up bacterial and fungal infections, and there is great antidotal information about its use on horses to fight rain Scald, thrush, cuts/scrapes, and even scratches and ringworm.
Eucalyptus - has powerful antifungal properties to maintain skin, hoof and frog health and assists in preventing aliments such as Rain Scald, Seedy toe and Thrush.
Pure Rain water has been added to this product
