Doesn't everyone love a lush and shiny beautiful tail? Luscious locks will help you achieve exactly that, for your horse that is.
BPE Luscious Locks Mane and Tail Oil comes in a 250ml or 500ml plastic tub bottle, with a pop top cap.
This oil is suitable for use on equine manes and tails, and also used sparsely on the coat (keeping in mind oils may cause sunburn). For best results wash and dry the hair, shake the bottle well and add a little oil to the tail bone area and down the tail and then brush through the tail to assist in detangling and nourishing the hair. If your horses tail is particularly long or thick tail (or even better, has both) you may need to add some additional oil further down the hair as well.
To encourage more tail growth, take some additional oil and rub deep into the the base of the hair follicles around the tail bone.
For the mane, apply in a similar manner, adding the oil to the top of the hair and brushing through.
If your horse suffers from dandruff, this oil may assist in nourishing the skin and preventing flaking when rubbed into the skin.
To use as a treatment, add a generous amount to the hair and then put the tail in a tail bag to allow the oil to penetrate without attracting dirt. The next day, brush the tail and repeat if needed. Continue to use the oil weekly to maintain softness, or more often if needed.
Does your horse get shoulder rubs from their rug? Apply a little to your hands and rub together. Wipe your hands over the shoulder rubs to soften the hair and help prevent it from catching and pulling on the rug.
- Best applied to clean, dry hair, or straight after shampooing.
- Please ensure you spot test to make sure your horse is not sensitive. If an irritation occurs, please discontinue use immediately and seek veterinary advice.
- For eternal equine use only, use caution not to get near the eyes.
- Use caution in summer as this product is oil based and may cause sunburn.
- Store out of the sun in a cool dry area.
- Shake well before use.

PALM FREE Fractionated Coconut Oil is a natural product derived from coconuts, FCO is liquid at room temperature, unlike the solid form used for cooking. It leaves skin and hair feeling smooth and soft, without feeling greasy and gives a fabulous shine to dull hair. FCO is a colourless oil which will not stain. It is also odourless. The 100% Palm Free Fractionated Coconut Oil we use, is a very high quality oil, sourced from Germany, via an Australian distributor.
Castor Oil I know you're thinking, "What? Isn't that what your grandma had when she was sick or to bring on labour". Well yes, however Castor Oil is also a popular and widely used cosmetic oil, Castor Oil is predominantly known for its ability to create a protective barrier on the skin and hair, protecting it against harsh environmental conditions. Castor Oil is rich in anti-oxidants, it can assist in calming itchy skin, increase blood flow when massaged into the skin, which in turn may lead to increased hair growth. It also has the ability to smooth the look of split ends and fly aways. The Castor Oil used is 100% pure Pharmaceutical grade, Cold Pressed (Virgin) Hexane Free Oil.
Jojoba Oil is actually liquid wax rather than an oil, and it closely resembles the sebum of the skin. It is rich in nutrients such as Vitamin E and B, antioxidants and essential fatty acids that work together to help repair damaged skin and hair cells and provide long lasting moisture and hydration to the cells. These conditioning properties help to keep hair soft, shiny and hydrated.
Glycerine is a humectant, meaning it pulls in moisture from the air to deeply hydrate the hair and skin. It also has antibacterial properties. And it adds a wonderful shine. Glycerine can help ease dandruff, by moisturize the scalp and hair, and help prevent hair from breaking.
Ylang Ylang has a very floral, sweet aroma, with intriguing hints of spice, used primarily for its scent, the 100% pure essential oil does however assist with stimulating hair growth and reduce excess oil production of the skin.
Rosemary Oil is used to help encourage hair growth, remedy dandruff and dry skin and slow down greying in horses and humans. It can also be very soothing.
