BPE Hoof Protect tubes come in 2 sizes, small and large and make application of our farrier wax smooth and simple.
It is formulated with the help of my farrier Des from Redemption Lodge Farrier Service (Mid North Coast NSW), this hoof wax is designed to protect your horses hooves from excess moisture, and to prevent any nasties from entering via the nail holes. It penetrates well into the hoof because of the addition of Coconut oil, and can assist in preventing Thrush and Seedy Toe.
Once the horse has been shod or trimmed, rub the entire hoof with wax, including around the nail holes. This can be repeated as often as necessary. Especially helpful when there is excess water in the environment and your horses hooves are soft.
Always consult your vet and/or farrier for issues related to hooves.
This formula does not replace the need for regular hoof care in anyway.
- Best applied to clean, dry hooves, after trimming or shoeing and between farrier visits.
- Please ensure you spot test to make sure your horse is not sensitive. If an irritation occurs, please discontinue use immediately.
- Wear gloves, and wash hands afterwards.
- For eternal equine use only.
- Store out of the sun in a cool dry area.
- In cooler climates you may need to soften this wax a little prior to use by mixing it with your fingers within the tub.
The wax contains the following active ingredients-
Beeswax - has many health benefits for horse wounds, for hooves, it is excellent for preventing excess moisture from entering the hooves in wet conditions by adding a waxy layer to the outer shell of the hoof.
Coconut Oil - Organic Virgin Coconut Oil is an Extra Virgin oil that is not refined, deodorized or bleached, and is Hexane free. The antimicrobial properties it contains can help protect the hoof from bacteria. While enabling the wax to stay a little softer and easier to work with.
Tea tea -The antibacterial properties of tea tree oil make it a great addition to this wax to help keep the hooves healthy.
Eucalyptus - has powerful antifungal properties to maintain hoof and frog health and assists in preventing aliments such as seedy toe and thrush.
Keep out of reach of pets and children - Tea Tree may be toxic to dogs and cats, please use caution.
All ingredients are sourced within Australia from Australian owned and operated small business's and where possible organic ingredients are selected. All essential oils are 100% pure, natural and ethically sourced from Australian and foreign origins (where possible Australian products are always used).
The final product is produced and packaged in my own kitchen in Rollands Plains NSW.
