BPE Protection Plus - ALL NEW FORMULA

In May 2025, a 500 year flood event happened on the mid north coast of NSW down to the Hunter Valley causing wide spread damage to homes, properties and business's, With the increased needs of local horses suffering with rain scald and other aliments, I decided to upgraded this super product to make it even more awesome. It does the same as before but is now even better and provides a more targeted affect to fight off nasties. Aloe Vera was added to sooth the skin and help the healing process. Micronized Colloidal Sulphur for even more targeted bacterial and fungal fighting, and Vitamin E for skin health.

BPE Protection Plus is a gentle, all round preventative to bacterial and fungal infections in horses.  Perfect for rain scald, greasy heal and even thrush. Formulated with a tried and tested mix of Aloe Vera, Sulphur, Witch Hazel, Apple Cider Vinegar and essential oils. BPE Protection Plus helps support healthy skin by targeting bacteria, fungi and irritants on the skin and hooves.  Simply spray a light coating over your horses coat or hooves and leave it to dry.  Repeat daily as needed

Protection Plus comes in both 250ml and 500ml spray bottles.

MAY IRRIATE BROKEN SKIN

For Rain Scald and Greasy Heal, apply to the affected areas for 1-3 days to kill the bugs causing the infection.  Follow up by applying Nourishing Skin Ointment or Repel & Repair to help soften and remove the scabs, heal the skin and regrow the hair.

Use as a daily thrush protection in wet, muddy weather or for horses prone to thrush.

BPE Protection Plus contains the following active ingredients.

Apple Cider Vinegar - is great for minor ailments such as skin infections, fungus, rain scald etc can reduce healing time by helping to keep bacteria and insects away. It will also help condition your horse’s coat naturally, helping the hair to regrow. ACV is also very effective at treating minor ailments in horse’s hooves such as seedy toe, abscesses and thrush. 

Witch Hazel Witch hazel is a topical astringent derived from the bark and leaves of Hamamelis virginiana, the common or North American witch-hazel shrub.  Native Americans have long recognized the medicinal properties of witch hazel and used a decoction of the boiled plant parts to treat skin irritations because of its antiseptic qualities. The popular herbal remedy is recognized world-wide as a natural cleanser and toner. In horses, Witch Hazel naturally soothes the skin and does not strip away the natural oils. It can safely be used daily when serious skin conditions are being managed.

Double Strength Aloe Vera Juice - Known for its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties it helps calm irritated skin and promote healing. It also provides hydration and supports skin regeneration.

Micronized Colloidal Sulphur - Not the standard bright yellow sulphur you often see, Micronized Colloidal Sulphur a gentle yet very effective antifungal and antibacterial agent that is known for its ability to help topical conditions in horses.  It supports healing by reducing inflammation and controlling microbial growth without irritating sensitive skin.

Tea Tree - comes from the melaleuca alternifolia plant, found in Australia. It is commonly used to help clear up bacterial and fungal infections, and there is great antidotally information about its use on horses to fight rain Scald, thrush, cuts/scrapes, and even scratches and ringworm.  

Eucalyptus - has powerful antifungal properties to maintain skin, hoof and frog health and assists in preventing aliments such as Rain Scald, Seedy toe and Thrush.

Lemon Grass - Another superpowered essential oil that is both antibacterial and antifungal.  It also helps deter insects while supporting skin healing and cleanliness.

Vitamin E - is not a single vitamin, but rather a group of fat-soluble vitamins with antioxidant effects. It can assist in speeding up healing and improve the cosmetic outcome of wounds and scars. Vitamin E has been shown to have great moisturising properties for the skin that can help reduce itchiness.

Keep out of reach of pets and children - Tea Tree may be toxic to dogs and cats, please use caution.  

 All ingredients are sourced within Australia from Australian owned and operated small business's and where possible organic ingredients are selected. All essential oils are 100% pure, natural and ethically sourced from Australian and foreign origins (where possible Australian products are always used).

The final product is produced and packaged in my own kitchen in Rollands Plains NSW.
