BPE Healing Balm comes in 150ml, 250ml and 800ml plastic tubs with screw on lid.

This balm is suitable for animals to assist in the healing of wounds and preventing scaring.  The active ingredients are known to help prevent infection from bacteria, increasing wound healing, reduce inflammation and moisturise the skin, leading to reduced scaring.  This balm contains more than 50% honey, over time the raw untreated honey used may crystalize, if this occurs it will not affect the healing benefits in any way and does not mean the balm is not longer suitable for use.

BPE Healing Balm contains the following active ingredients.

Raw Honey - Locally sourced, raw unheated honey is used in this balm to ensure that all the healing properties are not lost through pasteurisation (as in store bought honey).  Honey has anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and research has shown that raw honey can kill unwanted bacteria and fungus both because of its sugar content and as it naturally contains hydrogen peroxide, an antiseptic.

Honey also aids in tissue regeneration, reduces inflammation and promotes rapid and improved healing. It can assist in reducing excess granulation (proud flesh) during the healing process.

Beeswax - The anti-inflammatory properties of beeswax encourage the healing of wounds. It is also protective, helping form a barrier between the skin and the environment without clogging pores. It is high in vitamin A, which has been found to support cell reconstruction and health.  Beeswax has been found to help soothe and facilitate the healing of abrasions. It prevents harmful bacteria from entering the body through chapped and broken skin and it provides the skin with a layer of protection against external irritants.  It's great for treating scrapes, minor cuts, minor wounds, and burns, among other abrasions.

Coconut Oil - Organic Virgin Coconut Oil is an EXTRA Virgin oil that is not refined, deodorized or bleached, and is Hexane free.  It is an excellent skin moisturizer and softener, and is known as one of nature's best remedies for treating dry skin. It can also reduce inflammation, keeping skin moisturized and helping heal wounds. The medium-chain fatty acids found in coconut oil also possess antimicrobial properties that can help protect the skin from harmful bacteria.

Coconut oil helps bolster your skin's protective barrier layer, trapping moisture inside and keeping skin supple and hydrated. It has anti-inflammatory properties, making it beneficial for wounds and injuries and it also Increases collagen production to assist in healing and the reduction of scars.

Lavender - Really needs no introduction as a well known super oil. Used topically,  Lavender Essential Oil has been shown to reduce pain and enhance blood circulation, which in turn promotes healing. It boasts naturally cleansing and detoxifying properties which also make it incredibly beneficial for dry, sensitive and irritated skin, and promotes scar reduction.

Tea tea -The antibacterial properties of tea tree oil make it an effective wound healer. Research has shown that tea tree oil helps reduce inflammation and triggers the activity of white blood cells that are instrumental in the healing process It has also been shown to decrease in healing time compared to using conventional treatment alone.

Vitamin E - is not a single vitamin, but rather a group of fat-soluble vitamins with antioxidant effects. It can assist in speeding up healing and improve the cosmetic outcome of wounds and scars. Vitamin E has been shown to have great moisturising properties for the skin that can help reduce itchiness.

Aloe Vera - is renowned for its many beneficial properties and has been used for treating skin complaints since ancient times. Aloe Vera is soothing to burns, stings, rashes and other skin irritations. Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, Aloe Vera is also noted for its effectiveness in reducing pain and swelling. Its nourishing, anti-fungal and antibacterial properties also make Aloe Vera a great natural treatment for itchy skin and dry hair.
